Miner Priority Points calculates each fan’s affinity, loyalty and financial support of UTEP Athletics via numerous categories and metrics. Each Miner Priority Point category has an associated point value. Based on a fan’s history and activity, they receive a certain amount of points which are then compared to other fans and ranked. The Miner Priority Points program will be used for distributing and allocating new/additional season tickets, seat improvements/upgrades, assigning parking, and determining priority/access for postseason tickets and special events.
 
Affinity

UTEP Alumni

• Recognizing the athletics department’s role in the broader university community, individuals who have earned a degree from UTEP receive 10 points.

UTEP Employee or Retiree

• To honor and thank individuals who have served the university, current UTEP employees as well as retirees receive 10 points.

UTEP Varsity Athletics Letterwinner

• UTEP student-athletes embody the ideals of excellence in both athletics and academics. Recognizing their contributions to the Miner family, letterwinners receive 20 points.

 
Loyalty (since 2000)

Season Tickets Purchased

• Season tickets are vital to the athletics department, providing revenue as well as helping to bolster gameday attendance. Each season ticket purchased in the sports of football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball since 2000 equates to 2 points.

Each Consecutive Year of Season Tickets Purchased

• The Miner Priority Points system places a high value on unwavering loyalty. As such, each consecutive year of season tickets being purchased (account being active) is awarded with 10 points. NOTE: If an account ceases to be active, all accumulated points in this category are forfeited.

 
Financial Support (since 2000)

Cash Contributions to the Miner Athletic Club

• Donations to UTEP Athletics are essential to the department’s overall operation and advancement. This includes dollars given towards scholarships, capital campaigns, endowments, preferred seating and other unrestricted gifts. For every $50 donated, 2 points are awarded.

Each Consecutive Year of Giving to the Miner Athletic Club

• Consistent support is the backbone to a successful program. Individuals who have regularly contributed to the Miner Athletic Club, year in and year out, will receive 10 points for each consecutive year of giving. NOTE: If an account ceases to be active, all accumulated points in this category are forfeited.

Donations to Sport Excellence Funds

• Sport programs at UTEP regularly fundraise to enhance their budgets. Donors who have given to a respective sport program are awarded with 1 point for every $100 provided.

Gift-In-Kind

• UTEP Athletics accepts non-cash donations that help to offset potential costs and provide needed resources. Goods or services gifted are awarded with 1 point for every $50 donated based on fair market value.
