METHODS OF SUPPORT

Cash Gifts

Gifts in the form of cash, check or credit card (Visa, American Express or MasterCard) are the most popular form of giving.

Matching Gifts

If you or your spouse are affiliated with one of the 600 matching gift companies in the U.S., your firm may match the value of your annual gift to the Miner Athletic Club. We encourage donors who have this matching gift program available to take advantage as it may double or even triple your annual contribution. The total amount received will be applied to your benefits, priority seating, priority parking and priority points.

Automatic Deductions / Payment Plan

Annual gifts can be paid over 12 months, quarterly, or semi-annually by scheduling automatic payments through a credit card or checking account. This allows you to spread your donation over a period of time rather than pay in one lump sum. Payment plans can be set up online or by calling the Miner Athletic Club. Please note that all pre-authorized payment plans must be completed by December 31st.

Payroll Deductions

University of Texas at El Paso employees may be eligible for a monthly payroll deduction. Payroll deduction is similar to automatic deductions, and your pledge must be completed in full by December 31st.

Planned Giving

Miner fans and supporters can create a bond that lasts forever with UTEP Athletics by including the department in their overall tax, estate and financial plans. The Miner Athletic Club can assist individuals who would like to leave a legacy gift whether that be through trusts, gift annuities, life insurance, retirement plans, stock and/or real estate. By making a planned gift to UTEP Athletics, individuals are able to maximize tax savings but also have a profound impact on the long-term success of Miner student-athletes.

Estate/Bequest Gifts

Include UTEP Athletics in your will by leaving the department or a sport program a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate.

Beneficiary Designations – Name UTEP Athletics as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, IRA or other qualified retirement plan.

Additional Long-Term Gift Options – Consider UTEP Athletics when planning your charitable lead trusts, remainder trusts and gift annuities.

Gift-In-Kind

Individuals and businesses are able to contribute goods and/or services to UTEP Athletics in order to help offset budget expenditures. Examples include advertising, food, beverages, apparel, merchandise, transportation, courtesy cars, hotel accommodations, office supplies, and electronics. Gift-In-Kind is valued at fair market value and must be approved by the Miner Athletic Club prior to claiming for tax purposes/benefits each year. Gift-In-Kind contributions are eligible for most Miner Athletic Club membership benefits.

Courtesy Car Program

The Miner Motors Courtesy Car Program plays an important role in the success of UTEP Athletics. Courtesy cars provide Miner coaches and staff members the opportunity to effectively conduct their outbound engagement while reducing the overall cost of recruiting and travel. Courtesy cars are also a valuable job benefit, helping to attract and retain high performing employees. Members of the Miner Motors Courtesy Car Program receive various benefits.

Endowments

An endowment gift establishes a tradition of support for UTEP Athletics, providing significant impact for years to come. Starting at a minimum of $25,000, endowments can be structured to support scholarships or operational funding for the department or a specific sport program, helping to achieve competitive excellence. In addition to the flexibility that endowments provide, allowing to match donor passion with a specific need, they also offer a tremendous opportunity to honor someone, creating a lasting legacy.
