Michael Levy was appointed Deputy Athletic Director for Revenue Generation at UTEP in February, 2024.
Levy brings 12 years of collegiate athletics administration experience to the Miners, having worked previously at Texas Christian University (2011-15, 2018-23), the University of South Florida (2017-18) and the University of Wyoming (2015-17). He is also a former men’s golf student-athlete at TCU.
Levy rose through the ranks at TCU, starting as a Young Alumni Membership Coordinator and working his way up to Associate Athletics Director.  He oversaw day to day operations of Frog Club, and worked directly with the Athletics Director and Vice Chancellor for University Advancement to identify fundraising priorities for TCU Athletics. Additionally, he served as the sports administrator for the TCU Men’s & Women’s Golf and Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs, and sat on both the Athletics Executive Team and Advancement Leadership Team. Â
Levy executed fundraising for $400 million+ in capital projects – the Amon G. Carter Stadium Renovation Project, the Amon G. Carter Stadium Expansion Project, the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena, the Athletics Human Performance Center and the G. Malcolm Louden Player Development Center. He also spearheaded Athletics’ role in the university-wide LEAD ON $1 billion comprehensive fundraising campaign. Athletics Development represented $400 million (40 percent) of the campaign.
He led TCU Athletics to the largest fundraising year in school history ($88 million in new gifts and pledges) in fiscal year 2023.
He also served as the lead for TCU Athletics’ NIL external efforts, most notably managing Athletics’ relationship with the Flying T Club, the NIL collective supporting TCU student-athletes.
From 2018 to 2021, he held the role of Associate Athletics Director for Development and oversaw major gifts for TCU Athletics, mostly notably the $100 million Amon G. Carter Stadium Expansion Project. Â
He joined TCU Athletics in 2011, working in several different capacities with Frog Club. He launched the Legacy Brick Program, Student Frog Club and various annual giving initiatives.Â
During his stint at USF as Associate AD for Development & Major Gifts, Levy oversaw major gift fundraising for the Bulls Club, while focusing on securing principal and leadership-level gifts. He also ran the Iron Bulls annual giving society, producing record membership numbers. Levy started a feasibility study for an Indoor Practice Facility, and acquired the first seven-figure cash gift for the $22 million project.      Â
Serving as Assistant AD for Development at Wyoming, Levy oversaw annual giving for the athletic department and the Cowboy Joe Club. He raised money for several key facilities projects, including the High Altitude Performance Center ($44 million) and the Arena-Auditorium Renovation/Entry Expansion ($5 million).
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Strategic Communications from TCU. While playing golf for the Horned Frogs, he was a member of TCU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Levy is a former member of the NCAA Men’s Golf Committee (2021-23). He was a LEAD1 Institute Participant in 2019. An active member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) since 2011, he has served as a moderator for open forums and breakout sessions over the years. He was also a participant in the inaugural Senior Administrator Mentoring Institute in 2018.
